Autumn Tour - Belton Woods 3rd to 5th September 2024

Belton Woods was this year’s venue for the Venerables Autumn tour. The 21 players were treated to excellent accommodation with both food and service to match.

The golf courses were presented in very good condition, and both gave us a good test of our abilities. Although the first 2 days were mainly overcast and day 3 had some light rain early on, this did not dampen the spirits of our intrepid Venerables.

This year we had a few new Venerable members (adding some colour to the proceedings) who along with the stalwarts all said how much they enjoyed both the company and the experience.

Our thanks as always must go to Saleem who generously donated balls, towels and gloves for us to use as part of our daily prizes. A mention should also go to Andrew Wyatt for being our own David Baily as official photography, and lastly Dave Sephton for publishing on our website.

Dave Watts again organised the trip and special mention must go to Seve King for assistance with not only the card collection/verification but also sometimes what seemed like herding cats.

The winner of the prestigious Autumn Tour trophy this year was Kevin Esplin with a 2 day score of 73, narrowly beating David Baker by 2 points. Below you will find a summary of all the daily winners.
