Cartoon Golfer.jpg

On a scorchio day with the temperature nudging past 30, 34 Ven's set out to compete for the Soanes Trophy and a plethora of other prizes .A few of our older, and some not so older members were visibly flagging towards the end of their rounds, but fortunately all made it home in one piece.

In the conditions, which include a fresh breeze, there were a number of good scores, and one very good score.

After the golf, one or two cold beverages, and some exchanges of what could have been, if only !!!! we were treated to an excellent hot buffet

These events take a considerable amount of time and effort to organize and run, and a few words of appreciation are in order are in order.

Our thanks to Ed for the food, to Cyril, Ken R, Steve K, Steve Board for assisting on the day, to Steve Bonnett for the photos, David Baker for ensuring everyone purchased a raffle ticket, Dave S for sorting this all out on the web, to our skipper Richard for officiating (and promising to never mention yellow 24 again) to all the Ven's that supported the event, and last but by no means least, to Dave Watts for the splendid job in organising the day.
