On a breezy, but sunny day, 24 Venerables of varying ability set off for our annual 'hack through the rough' on the Essex, aka the Cross Country.
Back in the club house there were many tales to tell of what could have been, but as usual, nobody listened.
Our thanks go to Mandy and Pauline for a splendid job of serving the food, to Mrs A of course for an excellent meal, to Dave Watts for stepping in to take over from Bernard and organising the event, to our photographer Dave Sephton, to Alan Parkes for organising the 'Grand Draw', and to David Baker for managing to persuade so many Ven's to part with their hard earned pension. Finally, thanks to Richard for officiating in his last competition as skipper before handing the baton to Steve Truckle.
