A good turnout of 20 Venerables enjoyed this year’s Autumn tour at the Hilton Doubletree Forest Pines resort in North Lincolnshire. The weather was sunny, very warm and dry for all 3 days and the combination of the 3 nine-hole courses were in excellent condition.
A new trophy generously donated by Andrew Wyatt was up for grabs this year and as always it was played for in the spirit that epitomizes the Venerables.
Daily prizes of the ubiquitous red snoring juice was also to be played for, along with some extra prizes of golf balls and hats that Saleem very kindly supplied us.

This year the Venerables Anglia Tour was rebranded the Autumn Tour to reflect the fact that we shall be playing at venues not only in East Anglia but other parts of the UK, as this year ventures into both Leicestershire and Lincolnshire proved.
12 Venerables braved the elements to compete in the first day warm up round of golf at Stapleford Park. They were rewarded with a break in the atrocious weather to enjoy an open, fairly long but very well-presented course.
A further 7 Venerables joined us at the Autumn Trophy venue Belton Woods where again the golfing gods smiled on our members with decent weather.
Because of the recent heavy rain the courses were playing long but they were in great condition.
